Mayabel Movement International is a Canada-based charity organization dedicated to relieving poverty, advancing education, and promoting community economic development for low-income individuals, youth, women, and newcomers through education, skills and training, and community support programs. Since October 2023, Mayabel Movement International has supported individuals and families through food and essential support, education programs, youth and girls’ initiatives, newcomer support, and employment readiness activities that strengthen community resilience and opportunity.
MMI - OUR APPROACH
At Mayabel Movement International (MMI), we use a holistic, community-centred approach to create sustainable impact. Our work is guided by four key pillars.

Mayabel Movement International has supported individuals and families through food and essential support, education programs, youth and girls’ initiatives, newcomer support, and employment readiness activities that strengthen community resilience and opportunity.
ENVISIONING
We help individuals and communities envision a better future. Through leadership development, goal-setting workshops, storytelling, and community dialogues, they define their aspirations and become active participants in shaping positive social and economic change.
EMPOWERING
We empower individuals and families by addressing immediate needs and removing barriers to opportunity. MMI provides food and essential support, access to education, mentorship and safe spaces that build confidence, dignity, and self-advocacy, particularly for youth, women, newcomers, and low-income communities.
EQUIPPING
We equip people with the practical skills, knowledge, and tools needed for long-term success. Our programs include educational support, life-skills training, employment readiness, entrepreneurship education, and vocational pathways that strengthen academic outcomes, employability and economic independence.
ENGAGING
We engage communities through collaboration, participation, and advocacy. MMI brings together community members, partners, volunteers, and institutions to co-create solutions, raise awareness on social issues, promote civic engagement, and build inclusive and resilient communities.
